SUMMARY:Music at the Institute – Carmenco (afternoon performance)
DESCRIPTION:Carmenco\nFor the grand finale of the three concerts in our new Music at the Institute series, CarmenCo performs ‘A Pocket Opera’.\nCarmenCo is more than a concert: It’s a performance of Spanish and Spanish-inspired music presented as a play, roughly following the story of Bizet’s opera Carmen but told from her point of view. Dare you consult the cards with her? What does she think of the men in her story? Did she foresee her gruesome ending? And does she like the opera that was written about her?\nWith sell-out performances all over the UK, CarmenCo trio (mezzo/flute and 2 guitars), will have the audience in turn laughing out loud, and listening with absolute silence to  the immersive and evocative music. Leatherhead is served by bus from Kingston and by bus and train from Guildford, Dorking and Epsom.\nThere is no free parking in the town centre during the day.  Nearby car parks are the Swan Centre multi-storey on Leret Way (KT22 7JL) and the surface car park on Station Road (KT22 7AF). You can pay by cash or via RingGo at both of them.\n
