West Horsley Place Film Tour
Discover about history of West Horsley Place and the films and TV series filmed here.
This extraordinary 15th Century house was left to Bamber Gascoigne – the broadcaster and author – by his Great Aunt the Duchess of Roxburghe in 2014. It was in a dilapidated state and needed £10 million of immediate repairs. In the first instance the Duchess’s possessions were sold by auction.
In the tour we will explore how West Horsley Place is used as a location, hear behind the scenes stories and why filming is so vital to raising income to repair and conserve the Grade I listed manor house. You will also get to see recent repairs and find out about the newly discovered history.
Led by an expert guide you will visit rooms in the house that have been used as sets for films and series including Vanity Fair, My Cousin Rachel, Mothering Sunday, Howard’s End, BBC’s Ghosts, Enola Holmes, and more.
The tour will last about 1.5 hours.
